To achieve its objectives, the Barista Project has outlined the following Project Results (PR):

Learning Curriculum


The BARISTA ECVET Curriculum is designed to enhance the skills and competencies of barista educators and trainers, providing a comprehensive tool that facilitates the transfer and recognition of Learning Outcomes at national and European levels. It aims to support the development of professional profiles aligned with the latest standards in barista training and sustainable practices in the coffee industry.

Composed of two modules: Theory and Practice, each consisting of six lessons, this curriculum serves as a foundation for future recognition, validation, and certification processes. These lessons are carefully designed to provide both foundational knowledge and practical skills, ensuring a holistic learning experience. The curriculum also integrates essential elements of environmental sustainability, including coffee waste management and eco-friendly preparation methods, addressing key industry challenges while promoting sustainable practices.

The BARISTA ECVET Curriculum is the cornerstone of the project’s Digital Learning Platform, which offers open educational resources and supports collaborative learning for baristas, educators, and stakeholders in the tourism and hospitality sectors.


Training Materials (PR3)

The BARISTA Project Training Materials are designed to support educators and learners in mastering the essential knowledge and skills required for barista education. Developed in alignment with the ECVET curriculum, the materials provide a structured and practical approach to teaching and learning in the coffee and hospitality industries.

Key features include:

  • Comprehensive Content: Covering both theoretical foundations and practical applications across two modules, each with six lessons.
  • Modern Methodologies: Incorporating innovative teaching strategies, measurable learning outcomes, and detailed instructional guides.

E-Learning Platform (PR6)

The BARISTA Digital Learning Platform is a cutting-edge e-Learning Campus designed to revolutionize barista education. Developed as part of the Erasmus+ project, this platform offers interactive tools and resources for educators, learners, and professionals in the coffee and hospitality industries.

Key Features:

  • Personalized Learning: Allows users to create and manage tailored modules that suit their individual needs.
  • Comprehensive Resources: Hosts a variety of digital content, including training modules, assessments, and instructional materials.
  • Collaboration Tools: Includes discussion forums and messaging systems to facilitate communication and knowledge sharing among users.
  • Multi-Language Support: Available in all consortium languages, ensuring accessibility for diverse audiences.

The platform promotes validation and transparency of barista training skills, enabling learners to connect their prior knowledge with practical applications. As an Open Educational Resource (OER), it supports mobility, certification, and recognition of competencies across Europe.

Developed as part of the Erasmus+ project, the handbook offers practical insights and strategies to enhance barista training and elevate coffee as a tourism product.

Blended Mobilities

The BARISTA Project Blended Mobilities provide participants with a unique opportunity to gain in-depth expertise in the barista profession while fostering intercultural collaboration and skill development.

Key Features:

  • ExpertExpert Knowledge: Training covers topics such as coffee history, brewing techniques, perfect coffee blends, coffee roasting, grinders, serving hot beverages, and more.
  • Hands-On Learning: Combines theoretical knowledge with practical experiences, such as coffee-making workshops and interactive sessions.
  • Cultural Exchange: Participants explore universal and regional coffee traditions, enhancing their understanding of diverse cultural contexts.
  • SkillSkill Development: Focuses on improving digital competencies, English vocabulary related to coffee production, and professional self-esteem.
Mobility Locations:
  • Turkey (BTM1): Focus on theoretical and practical learning with hands-on barista training.
  • Italy (BTM2): Specialized sessions emphasizing advanced barista skills and environmental sustainability in coffee preparation.

Each mobility fosters a sense of belonging to a larger professional community while equipping participants with the tools to excel in the barista and hospitality industries.

The Blended Mobilities are essential to the BARISTA Project, promoting innovation, collaboration, and excellence in vocational education.


Transnational Meetings

The BARISTA Project includes five transnational project meetings hosted across different partner countries. These meetings serve as critical touchpoints for collaboration, progress evaluation, and strategic planning.

Key Objectives:

  • Align project strategies, tasks, and timelines.
  • Monitor and assess project outputs to ensure quality and effectiveness.
  • Share best practices, resolve challenges, and refine methodologies.
  • Foster collaboration and mutual understanding among partner organizations.
Host Countries

The meetings will be held in Turkey, North Macedonia, Greece, Italy and Spain, providing each partner the opportunity to lead and contribute to the project’s success.

By bringing together project coordinators and team members, these meetings strengthen partnerships, ensure the project's objectives are met, and promote innovation and sustainability in barista education.
